If you are unhappy with your breasts and looking for a change, chances are you have a ton of questions about breast augmentation. Many of your questions can be answered during your initial breast augmentation consultation, but it’s helpful to review common questions ahead of time so you can be prepared.
1. Does Breast Implant CC’s Correlate to Bra Size?
If you are hoping to achieve a D-cup after implants, you may need a smaller implant size than you think based on your current breast tissue and shape. When you think of your breasts, chances are you think of the standard retail sizing of A, B, C, or D cups. However, as you already know, these sizes are not uniform from retailer to retailer and have little real connection to breast size. When trying to determine the best implant size, you and your surgeon must consider your chest wall size, your current amount of breast tissue, and the size and shape of your natural breasts. With these things in mind, your surgeon can help you determine which size implant will help give you the average breast size you are looking for.
2. Will High Profile Implants Treat Breast Sagging?
If your breasts are sagging, breast augmentation may not be the procedure you are looking for. While breast implants can help add volume and upper breast fullness, they do not improve breast sagging, no matter what profile you choose. If sagging is your main concern, then a breast lift with or without implants is a better match to achieve your desired breast size and look.
3. Is the Loss of Nipple Sensation Common with Breast Augmentation?
Sensory changes in the nipples are not uncommon after breast augmentation. In most cases, however, sensation returns within 3 to 6 months after your procedure. Newer techniques and implant placement methods help to reduce the possible change in nipple sensation.
