There Are Four Nipple Types
Variety is the spice of life, as evidenced by the range of nipples that exist. So-called “normal” nipple types protrude a few centimeters from the areola, extending further when cold or aroused. Flat nipples, however, do not protrude from the areola in their resting state. They extend during arousal, when exposed to cold temperatures or when breastfeeding. Puffy nipples, on the other hand, have areolas that are elevated from the rest of the breast. Inverted nipples look dimpled in appearance because they’re turned inward. It’s not uncommon to have different nipple types on each breast.
